To do online notarization in house your company will need to engage a remote online notary “RON” service provider and each of your online notary employees will need their own signing certificate (x.509 tamper evident certificate). This post will help you get started using Notary.io as your company’s RON service provider. We will also outline your state’s requirements for traditional notaries to become remote online notaries.
- Click a “Sign Up” button anywhere on the Notary.io website to create a Notary.io account for your business.
- Follow the instructions on the Create Account page and submit the required information for your company. As the administrative user or “owner” of the account you may now begin using settings in your company account including inviting other online notary employees to the account.
- You may want to read the FAQs on the website or seek assistance from the Help Desk before creating your account or undertaking administrative tasks.
- If you need personal assistance in the creation of your company account and administrative user training you can schedule an appointment here: https://notaryio.zohobookings.com/#/4203687000005099002
- Contact support@notary.io for a new online notary form and ask each of your online notary employees to complete it and return to support@notary.io. We will work with each new online notary to provide their 2-year signing certificate (x.509 tamper evident certificate). Your company will be invoiced for the signing certificates.
- Schedule a time for training one or more online notaries in your company here: https://notaryio.zohobookings.com/#/customer/4203687000000078046
Currently, the only requirement to become a Texas Online Notary Public is that the notary have an “active commission” as a traditional Texas Notary Public. Please note that Texas law has recently changed that now requires completion of an “approved training course” for those applying to be new Texas traditional notaries and for existing traditional notaries to renew their traditional notary commissions. As discussed above, Notary.io will assist you in obtaining your required 2-year signing certificate (x.509 tamper evident certificate) and electronic image of your notary seal and both of these items will be needed for your application to become a Texas Online Notary.
